Schuco BMW 2002 Baur Cabriolet fjordblau metallic 1:43

1966 stellte BMW anlässlich seines 50-jährigen Firmenjubiläums die kompakte Mittelklasselimousine der 02er-Reihe
vor. Die „2“ stand in der Modellbezeichnung für Zweitürer und sollte den Kunden die Unterscheidung zu den etwas
größeren viertürigen Limousinen der sogenannten „Neuen Klasse“ erleichtern. Der „02er“ rundete das seinerzeitige
BMW-Programm nach unten ab und war bis zu seiner Produktionseinstellung im Jahre 1977 der meistverkaufte
BMW der 70er-Jahre. Von der bekannten Karosseriebaufirma Baur in Stuttgart für BMW entworfen, wurden bei
Baur ab 1968 auch ein vollwertiges 4-sitziges Cabriolet und ein, mit einem Überrollbügel ausgestatteter Targa für die
Frischluftfans der Marke produziert.

In 1966, on the occasion of its 50-year jubilee, BMW presented the compact, middle-class, 02 series saloon. The „2“
in the model designation stood for two-door and was supposed to make it easier for the customer to differentiate
it from the somewhat larger „New Class“ saloon. In its time, the „02“ completed the bottom end of the BMW
range and until its production was stopped in 1977, was the biggest-selling BMW of the 70s. Designed for BMW by
the well-known bodywork company Baur in Stuttgart, from 1968 Baur also produced a full-size, 4-seat saloon and
a Targa equipped with a roll bar for fresh air fans of the brand.
