Schuco BMW Isetta "Reisezeit" weinrot / cremeweiß 1:18

Dem immer größer werdenden Drang nach Mobilität im Wirtschaftswunder-Deutschland der 50er-Jahre folgend,
präsentierten die Bayerischen Motorenwerke 1955 das zweisitzige „MotoCoupé“ BMW Isetta. Der durch seine
rundliche Grundform auch als „Knutschkugel“ bezeichnete, äußerst beliebte Kleinwagen aus München wurde von
einem 12 PS starken Motorradmotor angetrieben. Aufgrund seines lediglich 250ccm großen Motors konnte die Isetta
auch von Besitzern des Motorradführerscheins der Klasse IV gefahren werden. Mit einem Kaufpreis von 2.580,-
DM stellte die Isetta für viele ehemalige Motorradfahrer den Einstieg in ein automobiles Leben dar. Während der
gesamten Produktionszeit der Isetta, zwischen 1955 und 1962 wurden insgesamt 161.360 Isetten produziert. Einige
Exemplare der Isetta waren bis Ende der 60er-Jahre auch bei verschiedenen Polizei-Direktionen im Einsatz und
gehören heute zu den gesuchtesten Sammlerstücken der Isetta-Szene.

To meet the ever increasing demand for mobility during the famous German economic miracle of the 1950s, BMW
presented the two-seater „MotoCoupé“ BMW Isetta in 1955. Also known as the „bubble car“ due to its round
shape, this hugely popular microcar from Munich was powered by a 12-horsepower motorcycle engine. Due to its
250cc engine, the Isetta could also be driven on a motorcycle licence. Costing roughly 2,580 German marks, the
Isetta helped draw many former motorcyclists into the world of cars. At total of 161,360 Isettas were manufactured
between 1955 and 1962. Until the end of the 1960’s, a few examples of the Isetta were also used by various police
departments and are now among the most sought-after collector’s items on the Isetta scene.
